Programme Schedule:
1st of December is observed as “WORLD AIDS DAY” every year and this was followed by BISWA with a Rally and an Awareness meet with dignitaries from different sectors to address the gathering on the topic HIV/AIDS.

Organizers:
This Programme was organized by BISWA in collaboration with Hirakud Motors, AIRTEL and Tata Indicom. The theme selected this year on World AIDS Day was “Act Aware”.

Rally Details:
This Rally was initiated by Mr.Khirod Chandra Malick, Chairman (BISWA) from the office premises of BISWA Central Office with a start flag and was led by the AGM (BISWA). The rally was mapped in such a way like it started from BISWA Campus (Sambalpur) to Sindurpank and again from Sindurpank to Hirakud Motors (Aintapali). In the rally BISWA’s Ambulance took up the initiation front and then followed by the employees in 2 wheelers.

Awareness Meet:
On Reaching Hirakud Motors, there already arrangements were done for the awareness meet. Before the Chief Guests arrival there was some time which was utilized in a perfect manner where Mr. S.P.Dash, Manager, Health, BISWA and Mr. Ramesh Dash,LaxmipriyaMicro Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., a sister concern of BISWA conducted a general quiz for the spectators there on abbreviations and terminologies related to HIV/AIDS for which each right answer was rewarded with a ball point pen. In the mean time the Guests arrived and the awareness meet started. Mr. Pramod Pattnaik (PRO) BISWA presented a brief outline of the programme and introduced the guests. The Chief guest for the occasion, Mr. Subharam Pradhan (President) Sambalpur Zilla Parishad addressed the gathering with the basic information about HIV/AIDS and its discriminations.

Participants Details:
Each and every employee from BISWA participated in the rally and also in the Awareness meet. Particularly in the awareness meet, even the employees of Hirakud Motors, Airtel and Tata Indicom were present there. The rally was led by the AGM (BISWA) although and the awareness meet was led by Mr. S.P.Dash (Manager, Health) BISWA and Mr. Ramesh Dash (Manager, LMPL) BISWA.

Proof Of Details:
The Programme from the beginning of the rally till the end of the awareness meet was video captured and photographed by Mr. Prasant Ojha (Asst Manager) and Mr. John Paul.B (Asst Manager) from the Research, Documentation and Consultancy Department (BISWA, Head office), Sambalpur. This Video was then edited in the same department and was retained for documentation purpose. There was also print media coverage of the same where reporters from different media lines made their presence.
