sabitri1As per the Hindu culture the black moon day (Amabasya) of Jyestha month (Summer) is very much auspicious for all married Hindu women, as they observe Sabitribrata for long life of their husband. It is observed with much funfare in every household with support of the family members. Inmates of women jail (Nari Bandi Niketan), Sambalpur with married status are also very much keen to celebrate Sabitribrata with religious fervour and gaiety in its campus. They used to pray for the wellbeing and long life of their husbands. But due to strict regulations of jail and paucity of funds, theysabitri2 felt somehow deprived. In such a situation BISWA extends all possible hands to them as per its role and responsibility of a Civil Society Organisation.  All the required items like Sari, fruits and materials were provided to them by BISWA on this occasion like earlier years. Mr Khirod Chandra Malick, Chairman, BISWA distributed all these articles and facilitated the observance of Sabitribrata in Swadhar home. Ms Bani Mahapatra, Deputy Manager Programme went to Nari Bandi Niketan with all these articles and facilitated the observance of Sabitribrata there.
