In first session of Day-I, the theme of discussion was “Implementation of Sustainable Fair Trade Management Systems (SFTMS) in India; issues, challenges and opportunities for FTOs & Producers”. Mr. Chandra Prasad Kacchipati, President of World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO), Mr. Lucas Caldiera, Independent Director, WFTO, Mr. Vip Kumar, Associate Member, WFTO, Mr. Mathew John, Board Member, FTF-I, Mr. Adidas Jacob, Consultant, WFTO participated as the key speakers of the function. The speakers covered subjects, like Information dissemination of key Fair Trade initiatives in India, evolving ways & means to promote Fair Trade brand in India through collaborative approaches, evolving a common strategy & platform for advocacy and promotion of Fair trade in India.

On 05.12.2009, i.e. Day-II there were training sessions on Web-based Solutions for marketing FT Product and Building up Online Market for FT Products. It was designed to enable the handicraft & handloom textile producers associated with the programme, to ensure better marketable products, developing Brand Identity & evolving strategy for brand promotion, developing collective strategy for domestic market promotion in India in buying of Raw Materials-Process-Sell alongwith evolving collective lobbying for favourable policies and exploration of alternate strategies.
