CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME OF ‘BISWA’ PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 28 July 2010 15:23
Capacity Building is a great initiative of ‘BISWA’ towards the Skill Development of the Staff members at all the Branches. After the First Mega Review at   Head Office in October’2010, one of the critical observations was that there is a NEED for the proper orientation of the new staff members and the skill up-gradation of the old staff members in the present context. Since, there has been massive recruitments at all levels. Hence, the majority of the staff members were new. Besides, Single Window Service (SWS) was introduced on the 1st of April 2008.The number of programmes / projects has multiplied. Needless to say, the successful timely implementation of the programmes / Projects depend solely on the Branch level employees. They are a heterogeneous combination of highly qualified MBAs, Engineers and under Graduates also.

Carefully analysing all these issues; Shri K.C.Malick, our Honourable Chairman mooted the idea of a new type of Orientation-cum-Training programme known as Capacity Building Training Programme (CBTP). A committee comprising of senior Second Line staff members was formed. After several days of brainstorming; the Training Module was finalised. Thus, the CBTP was launched in March 2010.
The Capacity Building Training is a 2-days programme. It will be held at Branch level and preferably at Branch Offices only. It is mandatory for all the staff members of   the Branch. Practical classes on Record-keeping are an integral part of the CBTP. We prefer an interactive model rather than a classroom lecture method. Another important component is the field visit to a nearby SHG by all staff members. Before concluding; they have to appear at a small Test. We ensure that all of them are provided with the Oriya Booklets namely ’PRAYAS’ and ‘PRAGATI’.

The CBTP team comprises of 4 members headed by Shri Ajoy Kumar Shroff, Manager – Training (Capacity Building). The other Trainers are: Shri D.Mahana, DaputyManager Shri Alekha Sahu and   Shri Mukunda Dash both Assistant Managers.
As on 10th July 2010; CBTP has imparted trainings to 90 Branches. In the meantime, the Training Programme has been completed in the Districts namely Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Cuttack, Puri, Kendrapada, Koraput, Malkangiri.

Out plan is to be extend CBTP to others States so that all the operational Branches are covered in due course.
