This is the story of a 22 years young girl Pinky, who received support from 'BISWA Swadhar Home' to become independent in spirit, in thoughts and in actions. Pinky lost her mother at a very early age and was residing with her father and step mother. Pinky's stepmother was a self-cantered personality and thus a threat in all kinds of ways. She used to mistreat Pinky and was forcing her to do all household works from dawn to dusk. Pinky's father was keeping himself indifferent from the issue. Yet, no matter how abused and neglected Pinky was, she had to live with her parents since she had no alternative. Pinky lost her patience when her step mother brought serious allegations about her character and bit her being so cruel. Pinky couldn't cope with this situation and ran away from her home. She reached to her aunty who was working as a child development project officer and was later brought to 'BISWA Swadhar Home'.She was provided frequent counseling, emotional support and strength. These therapy services, along with psychiatric treatment, helped her return to normal behavior and a happy state of mind. Pinky then was encouraged to pursue vocational skill training like 'Agarbatti', 'Phenyl', 'Papad', 'Soap making', etc. which made her self-reliant. Her life took a major turn when a noble soul, a Marwari boy visited 'Swadhar' and proposed to marry her. All kind of arrangements for the civil and traditional marriage were made by the "BISWA Swadhar Home" to bring the smile back to this girl. Today Pinky is leading a happy married life with her husband and in-laws. A sign of dignity can be seen in her face making her obliged to the extent towards the support she availed from 'BISWA'. Like Pinky, 'BISWA Swadhar Home' has been providing services to women in distress to ensure their protection of rights, leading to self-reliance, empowerment and social security for a dignified life. |
