Having served the State Bank of India for 26 years, Dr. Malick retired as a Senior Executive. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from Ravenshaw College, Bachelor’s degree in Law, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He is also a Certified Financial Analyst and is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers. He is actively involved in social work as a member of different social network organizations at district/state/national level. Dr. Malick has tuned his skills over the years, through regular interaction with individuals, communities, government authorities, donors and mass media, meeting the challenges of today’s highly specialized networking. With tons of exposure in the field of rural development and 26 years of banking sector experience to his credit he has been able to understand and address the needs of the teeming millions of rural India who are devoid of basic necessities of life. His significant contributions to the society have been widely recognized and appreciated by various organizations of national and global repute. He is member to the FINISH Board-A Project Initiative of WASTES, Netherland; Patron, Red Cross and Patron, Hind Kustha Nibaren Sangha (HKNS) A few of the positions he presently holds include:

Dr. Khirod Chandra Malick (born 1958), is the founder Chairman of Bharat Integrated Social Welfare Agency (BISWA), one of the biggest NGOs of India. BISWA is a pioneering organization, committed to help the poor rise above poverty with self help and dignity. BISWA, through his constant guidance and visionary approach for the last 17 years, has today assumed the stature of a highly reputed developmental organisation which is deeply involved in the process of social engineering at the grassroots level. His main ideological alignment is towards integrating Social-Finance, Social-Enterprises, Social-Security, and Social-Marketing towards Holistic Social Development. Aiming at empowerment of the underprivileged section of society with particular reference to women he has been able to successfully implement development programmes that address poverty eradication, livelihood promotion, basic health services, water & sanitation, education, social marketing, natural resource management and gender equity through Self Help Group (SHG) model.
