He wanted to enter into a government job. But unfortunately he failed in +2 examination for which he was deeply shocked. Matter didn’t end there. His married sister Sujata came back from her father-in-law’s house due to the ruthless torture by the in-laws. That made Hemanta to get depressed further. Misfortune never comes alone. The mother of Hemanta also breathed her last untimely. By seeing all these at a very tender age, depression in Hemanta became severe and he became mentally ill.

At the age of 25, his father told him to get married and he obeyed the old father. After marriage when his wife came to know about his mental illness she left him and went back to her father’s house. Many times Hemanta accompanied by his father went to his wife’s house to convince her to come back. But the lady didn’t listen, rather she preferred a second marriage. When Hemanta came to know about the second marriage of his wife, he became violent and aggressive. He blamed his father for all these and started beating his father. Soon his father also became mentally ill.

One of the field staff of ‘BISWA’ came to know about the problem of this family and tried to intervene. ‘BISWA’ staff asked Hemanta, his sister Sujata and father Mr Laluji Barik to come to office. They were provided proper medical treatment by the BNI staff. After being treated regularly, they became completely stable. By seeing their improvement, the organization decided to help Hemanta Barik for livelihood support. Availing a loan from ‘BISWA’, Hemanta opened a saloon in his village. Now he is self-dependent and capable enough to earn for the entire family. The family is capable enough to buy their medicine and meet other requirements also.

Hemanta’s father Mr Laluji Barik is now searching another suitable girl to get him married again. Now he is independent enough to take care of himself as well as his family.
